COBWRA RECEIVES PROFESSIONAL PARTNERSHIP AWARD FROM FIREFIGHTERS/PARAMEDICS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY

February 28, 2015, West Boynton Beach, Florida –  At a gala reception hosted by the Firefighters and Paramedics of Palm Beach County, the Coalition of Boynton West Residential Associations (COBWRA), along with their sister organizations to the south (The Alliance of Delray Residential Associations and the West Boca Community Council), was honored with the Professional Partnership Award for their role in developing and promoting the Palm Beach County Yellow Dot Program.

The “Yellow Dot” program is the Vial of Life for the car. It gets important information to emergency responders quickly and can save a life. If an individual is involved in a car accident and cannot communicate, first responders will look for a Yellow Dot sticker on the lower left corner of the rear window of the car. The signature “Yellow Dot” decal visually alerts first responders that essential medical information can be found in the glove compartment. That way, firefighter/paramedics or police officers can quickly grab the information form and learn about the victim’s medical history. Once identifying that the victim is a Yellow Dot participant, the first responder will look in the glove compartment for the “Yellow Dot” card that carries important medical information about the victim. This life saving information can help rescue crews decide how to treat the victim appropriately. This is especially important after a car accident where the individual may be unconscious, in shock or simply unable to clearly communicate.  For further information about the Yellow Dot Program, visit the COBWRA website at www.COBWRA.org and click on the Yellow Dot Decal.

On hand to accept the award for COBWRA were President, Myrna Rosoff,  First Vice President, Glen Harvie, Second Vice President, Warren Danz, Secretary Debbie Murphy and Directors Joan Brunswick and Sharon Reuben.  “To be recognized by the heroes who put their lives on the line every day for the people of Palm Beach County is a great honor,” said President Rosoff.
